We stayed at the Harbourside Apartments on Mcmahon's Point in Lavender Bay, North Sydney, for 17 days. From our 12th story apartment, we had a panoramic view of the Sydney Harbor, including the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The quantity of boat traffic was amazing. Often, in a single snapshot, we could capture 20 boats, from ferries to sailboats to kayaks to water taxis. There was a ferry stop at our door, which took us to either Circular Quay in one direction or Darling Harbour in the other. When I include a "u" in the word, then it is the Australian spelling. When I don't, I am just using the English noun as per American usage: Harbour vs. Harbor.
From our apartment, we saw two P&O ships and one Princess ship pass under the bridge and dock at the far side of The Rocks. Larger ships don't fit under the bridge, and so they dock in Circular Quay. We are very grateful to our hosts for putting us up in such spectacular digs. With a full kitchen, we fixed some of our meals at "home." Otherwise, on Blue's Point Road, there were numerous excellent restaurants. When we opened the kitchen windows, parrots came in, walking around the counters looking for food. On the other side of Lavender Bay was Luna Amusement Park. At night, we could hear the screams.
